top james bond cars

While muscle cars have their place in the automobile world, they are not the only ones that are appreciated. Here are some examples. The 1968 Chevrolet Biscayne was a solid luxury sedan, perfect for Sunday drives, but with a high-performance 427 cubic-inch V8 engine. It became known as Bisquick. These cars are incredible examples of how much power a big engine can bring to a small sedan.

X-100

The Mercury Marauder X-100 is a classic muscle car that many of you may not have heard of. Built in 1971, the X-100 was an unusual-looking car that had the performance to match a Lincoln Continental. The curb weight of the car was comparable to a fully-loaded Chrysler 300 C. However its power was impressive at 360 horsepower. If you haven't yet owned one, you should definitely check out the X-100.

Coronet

The Coronet sedan was a mid-sized sedan with a powerful engine suitable for the late '60s muscle car age. The Coronet offered a lot of potential and was available with many aftermarket options. The Coronet could become a serious weekend hot rod, or track car with the modern Hemi motor. Although it is often overlooked, the Coronet is still a classic muscle car with a lot to offer.

GNX

Buick GNX has a 3.8-liter turbocharged V6. The turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 is capable of producing 276 horsepower and 360 pounds-feet of torque. This makes the car a formidable performer in the quarter-mile drag race, putting it ahead of many high-performance cars. The car can reach speeds of 102 mph which is a quarter-mile record for most cars.

XR7

The Mercury Cougar XR7, one of the most popular muscle cars from 1970s America, is well-known. This was an extraordinary car that combined muscle car power and luxury with refinement. The XR7's base engine produces only 210 horsepower. However, the optional 429 big-block engine delivers 325 horsepower. The interior of this car is equally luxurious, with wood paneling and leather seats. The XR7, in other words was a rare luxury musclecar.

Oldsmobile Jetstar

The Oldsmobile Jetstar muscle car was full-size and was made only in 1964 and 1965. The Jetstar was similar to the Pontiac Grand Prix. It had a concave back window and a squared off roofline. The Jetstar was much more expensive than the Starfire. Jetstars could also be ordered with larger engines, such as a 394-cuin, 345 horsepower engine. This gave the car an unusual look. The 1964 Oldsmobile Jetstar came with a four-barrel carburetor. The 1965 model featured a stronger engine, a 421-cu-in 376-hp Tri-Power.

Torino GT

Ford made some great muscle cars, but the Torino GT was one of their most notable offerings. This was the first Torino with a full-size V8 engine. It made this car an incredible machine. The Torino GT had a black hood with a functional air scoop, a four-barrel Holley carburetor, and Edelbrock intake. The car was great for family hauling, yet still had lots of power. With a 4-speed manual transmission, the 427 Cobra Jet had a speed of 14 seconds.
