Amphicar refers to a boat

Trippel invented the Amphicar in the 1960s. It measured 15.5 feet in length and weighed 1,700lbs. It could travel at 90 mph on land but was faster in water. They were secured by a handle, and could only be opened when in water. Today, eight Amphicars still live at Disney Springs. Some of them still have a low mileage, but you'll have to shell out a good amount of money to get one of these boats.

Nissan Cube is a beetle

California's Nissan Cube is a popular choice because of one thing. Exterior features include a large glass area, a bullfrog face grille and a "water drop" headliner. Inside, you'll find a padded "sofa" seat and a shag carpet insert in the dash. FAQ

What is the job description for a mechanic in a car?

Three main areas of employment are available for car mechanics:

  • Automotive repair shops
  • Dealerships
  • Independent garages

Automotive repair shops

It's where most people start to think about becoming a mechanic. It's the easiest way for most people to get started. Either work for someone else's shop or you can start your own.

If you plan to work in a shop, you must apply to join the union. After being accepted into the union, the union will provide training.

Once you complete the training, it's time to get started.

If you plan to open your own garage you will need to register with government. After you have registered, you will need to meet certain standards.

After you have registered, you will be issued a license to operate your garage.

Your license will permit you to sell spares parts and perform minor repairs. It will not allow you to repair major engine problems.

Customers will expect you to not only sell spare parts but also provide advice and guidance.

Dealership jobs

Many dealerships have mechanics who are experts in one particular area. They may be trained to replace or repair tires, or they may specialize in brakes.

Some dealers also have general mechanics that can handle all aspects.

These positions often require applicants to undergo specific training before being allowed to work. This allows employers to select the most qualified candidates for their roles.

Some dealerships will even hire graduates right out of university. These graduates already have a basic understanding of mechanical engineering, so they are able to learn all about cars.

Independent garages

Independent garages are not associated with any one dealership. Instead, independent garages tend to concentrate on providing high-quality services.

Because independent garages aren't affiliated with any company, they can afford to pay higher wages. These jobs generally pay better than those at dealerships.

Independent garages don't necessarily make for better work environments. Many owners prefer to run their businesses themselves rather than delegate responsibility to employees.

You may find yourself working for long hours and not having control over the day.

Additionally, you should expect to earn lower wages if employed by a dealership.

The good news is that you can easily switch between different kinds of jobs. If you want to work at a dealership, then you simply need to ask your current employer if he would consider hiring you as a mechanic instead.

Alternatively, if you'd like to work at an independent garage, then you could try applying directly to the owner of the garage.

It's not always easy to find a job. Many other factors can also influence the amount you earn.

This could include the type of vehicle that you are working on and whether or not you charge an additional for labor.

How long does it take to become a good mechanic?

Expert mechanics take years of practice and extensive experience. The best way to learn how to repair cars is by working under the supervision of a professional mechanic.

You will spend time in a workshop learning everything you can about cars. You will need to read books on mechanical engineering and car design.

Auto school is also required.

It is important to get started early. Don't wait until you're older to begin studying automotive technology. Do you want to be a mechanic? Get started today!

What qualifications does a truck mechanic need?

This job requires you to be a skilled mechanic, although you do not need any formal training. Your knowledge is valuable as you are able to quickly diagnose problems and work efficiently.

Your knowledge of diesel technology will allow you to identify the parts that are required to fix our vehicles.

What is the length of an apprenticeship as an automotive mechanic?

It takes approximately three years to complete an automotive mechanic apprenticeship. It includes two years of school and two years as an apprentice. The first year of training is spent in the trade. This includes theory and practical skills as well as safety procedures. You will also learn to use tools efficiently and safely during this period. After completing the first year, you'll then spend another year on-the-job training where you'll gain experience in different areas of the trade. These are also the times you can attend formal courses.

The final year is dedicated to earning certifications and qualifications in the field. These include NVQs, which are obtained after passing industry-specific exams. You can also get HNCs (Higher National Certificates), that cover subjects such as customer service, business administration, management, and business administration. For those interested in pursuing certain trades, City & Guilds certificates are available.
